^{*A hundred years ago*}
I threw him off my back, sending him crashing into the tree a few feet away. I looked around to find Amy.

There was fighting and bloodshed all around me as I frantically looked for her. Where could you be? I asked myself as I stepped over dead bodies.

Someone tackled me to the ground, sending both of us rolling on the grassy field. I snarled at kicked my attacker off of me. My attacker cried out in pain as I kicked them another time. I felt nails digging into my chest and I yelled out in pain. I could feel my shirt getting soaked with the blood that was slowly oozing out of my wounds. I hissed at my attacker and rolled us once more, so that I’d be on top.

I pinned my attacker to the ground by their neck as I finally saw who was attacking me.

There was a brief pause as I looked into my attackers eyes.

My attacker was a woman. She wasn’t a vampire. She wasn’t one of us—the Winter Coven.

She was a demon.

I did what I had to do and crushed her neck with my arm.

I sighed and stood up, closing her eyes so that she would have a least a little bit of pity from me. I looked around again.

My eyes scanned the people who were fighting, if you could call them people at all. This isolated war had only happened once before and no one of the human race knew about us.

My eyes landed on a familiar face, lying on the ground. I ran to it, pushing everyone, ally or not, out of my way. I reached the body and stopped.

I swore loudly in French as I saw that the body wasn’t Amy.

I realized then that she was gone.

I wouldn’t be able to find her.
