Second Prologue of Seeking Solace

Tue Feb 3, 2009, 5:09 PM
*The Present*
Amy Lauren Jang-Williams was standing in the empty street, waiting, just waiting for him—her crush from school, Dean William Scott McLaughlin. I highly doubt he's gonna come, Amy thought to herself as she brushed her hair out of her pale face. She had been adopted by Ryan and Meghan Williams when she was eight years old and she was actually supposed to be celebrating her ninth year with the Williams tonight, but she had snuck out of their house just to meet Dean.

Earlier that day, Dean had asked Amy to meet him across the street from the school. Dean had come up to Amy in French class asking to meet him in the front of the school at nine thirty that evening. Amy, of course, desperately wanted to be with Dean and had nodded her head vigorously until her neck had cracked as you would crack your knuckles, which made her face flush crimson. There was something about Dean that drove Amy insane, but yet she still had a major crush on the guy. Dean was slightly on the tall—just shy of six two but a hair taller than six one. His hair was a shade of dark chocolate brown and his eyes were a shade of brown, which Amy always got herself lost in whenever she was near him. Dean was well muscled and he was mysterious and almost porcelain pale, which also made Amy gawk all over Dean every time she saw him.

Amy was tall for an Asian, five foot five and a half—though she said that she was five foot six—and was slender and was well curved. Her hair was an extreme dark shade of brown and her eyes were an extreme shade of dark chocolate brown with a hint of purple in it whenever she was in the sunlight. Amy was obviously of an Asian background, though she never knew or met her biological parents.

Amy had been waiting for nearly fifteen long minutes against her metallic jet black four door Ford pick up truck, which was given as her sixteenth birthday gift from Ryan and Meghan. She and her late brother had done some custom work to the truck; they had given it a new paint job—a metallic jet black paint—and had added a decal on the roof of the truck as well as both the doors and the hood.

Two pairs of bright headlights appeared at the opposite end of the road. She stood up and walked to the front of her car, leaned on the hood and waited as the headlights neared. Odd, Amy thought, I thought Dean said that he was gonna come alone. As the two cars approached, the engines were suddenly cut and the people in the cars stepped out.

The one that stepped out of the deep forest green 1970 Mustang was the extraordinarily handsome Dean William Scott McLaughlin. He was wearing a dark navy blue long sleeve t-shirt with some sort of family shield on his left breast that was a grey shade. Dean wore a pair of dark navy blue jeans that were snug at his wide muscular hips.

The passengers of his car were his adoptive brother Jason, his adoptive sister Kristina and his other adoptive sister Danielle, who everyone called Danny.

Jason was wearing a black and red t-shirt and a pair of loose fitting black jeans. Jason had floppy brown hair that was somewhat spiky. He was muscular, and his height actually emphasized his muscles. Jason’s eyes were a shade of hazel and grey.

Danny was wearing a deep purple colored t-shirt with a pair of blue skinny jeans that fitted her slim athletic bodice really well. Danny had layered dark brown hair that reached to the middle of her back, but was pulled into a sloppy pony tail with her bangs slightly covering her eyes. Danny was wearing a pair of black and white Converse shoes.

Kristina was the total opposite of Danny. She was wearing a light pink long sleeved t-shirt with a very low neckline, a pair of baby blue jeans that were cut off at the knees and a pair of pink flip-flops. Kristina had the body of a model—nice and slim. She had shoulder length dark strawberry blonde hair and light blue-grey eyes.

The other car was the same 1970 Mustang; only this one was a deep metallic crimson colour. The driver of this crimson Mustang was Dean's older biological brother, William. He was wearing a green long sleeved t-shirt with a pair on regular blue Levi's. William looked almost nothing like Dean—he had spiky dirty blonde hair and sea blue eyes.

Dean had told Amy that all the children of the McLaughlin family were adopted except for Isabelle, who had died in a plane crash two years earlier.

The passengers in William's car were the other two children in the family, Alex and Adam—another pair of adopted kids. Alex and Adam were adopted as twins together. Alex was a tad shorter than Adam, who stood five foot eleven at full height. Alex stood foot ten and a half with spiky light brown hair. He had dark hazel eyes and he had an eyebrow piercing on his left eyebrow. Adam was almost exactly like his twin brother—spiky light brown hair, but his eyes were a slightly darker shade if hazel than Alex's eyes. Alex and Adam were both well muscled; their muscles slightly bulged out of their matching shirts. They were both wearing shirts that were a dark shade of grey with a bear's claw that extended from the right shoulder blade to the front of their shirts. They were both wearing an identical pair of dark blue jeans that were slightly ripped at the knees and thighs.

Amy stood up off the hood of her car and faced the McLaughlin’s. Dean stood closest to Amy and he had his hands in the pockets of his jeans. He stepped forward and walked swiftly towards Amy while the rest waited by the two cars, facing each other rather than at Dean and Amy.

"I'm surprised that you actually showed up," Dean said as he neared Amy with one of those smirks that just make you melt where you're standing.

Amy blushed slightly and smiled, "I thought you were going to ditch.... And I'm happy you didn't."

Dean smiled back and took another step closer to Amy. "You ready?" he whispered in Amy's ear. Amy nodded and looked into Dean's chocolate brown eyes.

Suddenly, another American Muscle car drove into sight, opposite of where Dean and his brother had came from. It was a 1967 Chevrolet Impala.

The tires on the other car skidded to a stop as two people stepped out as the engine suddenly became quiet. The driver was shorter than the passenger. He was handsome and tall, about six foot two. He was wearing a dark tan khaki jacket with pockets on either side of his chest and a semi-thick collar. He was wearing a pair of dark blue jeans which were ripped at the bottom of the pant legs, a black t-shirt underneath a plaid blue and black button shirt, and a pair of black work boots. He had spiky brown hair and dazzling hazel eyes.

The other one, the passenger, was probably two inches taller than the driver. He had shaggy brown hair and hazel eyes as well. He was wearing a similar pocketed jacket, only his was larger and had a lighter hue to it. He was wearing a dark blue t-shirt under a matching blue plaid buttoned shirt that he left unbuttoned. He was wearing a pair of regular blue jeans that were also ripped at the bottom of the pant legs and a pair of similar black work boots.
They walked towards the McLaughlin’s and Amy—their footstep in complete unison—and stopped a few feet away from where Amy and Dean stood.

Dean took his hands out of his pockets and smiled at the two strangers. “Hey guys,” he said holding out a closed fist. The two strangers lightly hit Dean’s fist with their own fists with a nod. “Amy, these are my other two brothers, Jared”—he pointed at the shorter one, then at the taller one— “and Joey.”

Amy acknowledged Dean's two brothers and looked at Dean. “Now are you ready?” he asked and Amy nodded with a curious smile.
